Unspoken Fears

"What are you afraid of?"

A question that is often asked as a light question.

 People expect an answer like snakes or heights, something simple, something unimportant, actually.. 

But the truth is Im not afraid of spiders and I have absolutely no problem with taking the elevator.

Im afraid of time, how everything goes by way too soon, how i might run out of time before i even start living.

Im afraid of choosing a wrong person to build a life with, not knowing what love really is, not knowing there is more.

 Im afraid of making mistakes, being at the wrong place, at the wrong time, and completely messing up with my happiness.

 But those subject far too heavy for a small-talk and i'll just get a weird looks from the people who asked me. So I'll be polite, I'll say Im afraid of sharks, ducks, or big dogs.

But our real fears, are those unspoken. "
